Zero-Max Expands ServoClass Flexible Shaft Coupling Line
Zero-Max introduces the new ServoClass Floating Shaft Couplings, providing both high torsional stiffness and high misalignment capacity in extended length applications. Utilizing the field-proven design of the ServoClass Couplings, these new Line Shaft Couplings are ideal for motion control applications including X-Y positioning systems, X-Y-Z gantry systems, line-shafted equipment, for connecting two adjacent linear actuators or screw jacks, and more.
The ServoClass Floating Shaft Couplings provide an economical, fast, quick delivery solution, and offer a higher performance option compared to Jaw-and-Spider designs. For DBSE’s ranging up to 48 in. (1219.2 mm), a Quick Ship Delivery is available in just days, at no extra cost for the fast delivery. Longer lengths are also available. The ServoClass Floating Shaft Couplings provide an ideal blend of high misalignment capacity with high torque capability and high torsional stiffness. This shaft coupling design ensures complete mechanical synchronization and position accuracy between the connected components of the equipment, even for the most demanding applications.
Construction features include hubs, flanges, and floating shafts made of clear anodized high-strength aluminum for maximum strength, durability and corrosion resistance. Disc packs and bushings are made of 304 series stainless steel. All screws are treated for maximum corrosion resistance. The Floating Shaft assembly is fabricated in a specially designed fixture to ensure a squared-up, concentric, flange-to-tubular shaft assembly at each end. This assembly fixture also supports the proper angular orientation of the floating shaft components end-to-end.
Custom designs are available for challenging application requirements, including, but not limited to, longer DBSE, special bores/keyways, different platings/coatings, dynamic balancing, and more. Customization is available in any quantity, from a single product to hundreds or thousands, with no Engineering charges.
“Floating shaft couplings built to exact length requirements have been increasingly popular for use in manufacturing and automation systems because of their robust design, mechanical synchronization, and ease of installation,” reports Brian Mishuk, vice president sales and marketing for Zero-Max. “The ServoClass Floating Shaft Couplings provide an additional option to our standard product offering and include the customization and quick delivery capability that our customers have come to expect. High speed inserters, automated assembly equipment, printing, paper converting, packaging systems, and specialty machines are just a few applications where our floating shaft solutions are being used,” Mishuk stated.
