OES Releases Dual-Axis Yaw Pitch Stages

OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) has released the new YP200-30 Series of Dual-axis, Yaw-Pitch Stages. This series of Yaw-Pitch Stages features a high precision rotary stage (Yaw-axis) capable of clockwise and counterclockwise rotation and a high precision goniometer with +/- 30 degrees of travel. The pitch axis table measures 160 mm by 160 mm with a precision pattern of threaded holes for tooling and fixtures. The integration of high precision rotary and goniometer stages creates platforms for the precise measurement of curves and angles. The YP200-30 Series Dual-axis Yaw-Pitch Stages have easily accessible mounting holes for easy integration into new and existing applications. The Yaw axis has a home switch for initialization and the pitch axis has two end-of-travel limit switches. The YP200-30-01 (pictured) is driven by two-phase stepper motors with knobs for manual adjustments, whereas the YP200-30-04 stage has quadrature incremental optical encoders for position verification. The YP200-30-02 is driven by three-phase brushless servomotors with quadrature incremental optical encoders and the YP200-30-03 is driven by DC brushed servomotors with quadrature incremental optical encoders. These servomotor driven stages feature: better repeatability and positional accuracy, and higher travel speeds typical of a closed loop servomotor system. The repeatability with a 10 micro-steps-per-step motor driver of the yaw and pitch axes is +/- 0.01 degrees, positional accuracy is 0.05 degrees and resolution 0.001 degrees (3.6 arcsec). The stages are black anodized aluminum, with a high load capacity of 25.0 kg and the rotation center height is 136 mm. These stages require a multi-axis motion controller that can be ordered as a complete plug-and-play system with RS-232, USB, joystick, and keypad control.
