Kollmorgen Introduces New Controller and High-Voltage Capability in its Essentials Portfolio
Kollmorgen Corporation announces the expansion of the Kollmorgen Essentials portfolio with the addition of the PCMM2G Essentials controller and new high-voltage drive capability up to 4 kW. Together, these additions extend the Essentials advantage to support a broader range of industrial applications and motion requirements.
Machine builders can now right-size performance, scalability and budget to configure a complete, cost-effective motion system that is easier to design, deploy and scale—delivering greater versatility and value.
“OEMs need the flexibility to design the right system for their machines without having to overbuild or compromise,” said Chris Cooper, global director, product management. “With the expanded Essentials portfolio, they can scale performance and cost to meet their needs with a single solution.”
Scalable control to meet application needs
The new 8-axes PCMM2G Essentials controller offers the same proven performance and integration capabilities of the original PCMM2G at a price point scaled for lower-axis-count applications, such as indexing and basic positioning. This compact, multi-axis controller lets machine builders meet specific requirements without sacrificing performance.
PCMM2G Essentials is part of a complete, integrated Essentials motion system—including motor, drive, controller, and software—from a single supplier. This reduces system complexity, engineering effort and commissioning time. It also seamlessly integrates with the Kollmorgen Automation Suite, with no incremental licensing fees and lifelong updates, lowering the total cost of ownership and maximizing the value.
High-voltage capability for standard industrial environments
The Kollmorgen Essentials high-voltage drive extends the simplicity and affordability of Essentials into higher-power industrial environments. It provides support for 240–480 VAC, three-phase input and system capability up to 4 kW (from 3 kW), aligning with standard industrial power used across North America and Europe.
This capability enables deployment in automotive parts manufacturing, logistics facilities, material processing, machine tools and more without requiring a transformer or workaround. By eliminating the need for external power adaptation, the high-voltage drive improves energy efficiency and simplifies overall system design.
Altogether, the expanded portfolio reinforces the Essentials approach to making high-performance motion accessible across the full spectrum of machine design. From industrial facilities to simple motion applications, machine builders get one portfolio to mix and match solutions based on performance, axis count and cost needs.
