Dapra Expands Toroid Tool Line

Dapra Corporation recently added 12 new shell mills in ODs from 2" through 8" to its high-performance Toroid cutting tool line. For maximum versatility, four insert geometries--round, square, high-feed and octagonal--are now available for Toroid cutters. Dapra’s new octagonal inserts have eight-sided geometry for general face milling capabilities. Their 45 degree lead angle provides increased feed capacity for face milling, profiling, helical interpolation and chamfering. In order to simplify the matching of the various-shaped inserts with specific cutter bodies, Dapra provides "R-value" designations, which can be found on each cutter body. Compatibility can be achieved by matching the insert and cutter body "R-values", the company says.
