AutomationDirect’s line of multi-conductor cables now includes additional 600 V and 300 V portable hard-usage service cord. Flexible power cable (also called service cord) is a cable with multiple conductors used for electrical power connections requiring flexibility and resistance to a wide range of environmental factors. Typical applications include wiring for industrial machinery, large appliances, heavy duty tools, motors, and temporary electrical power and lighting for construction sites.

Newly added Type SOOW and SJOOW portable cord is available in 18 to 10 AWG sizes and in 2, 3, or 4-wire configurations. The multi-conductor cable features bare copper conductors with Class K stranding. The outer jacket is constructed of oil, weather, and water resistant CPE thermoset rubber to provide abrasion and melting resistance; EPDM thermoset rubber insulation provides interior oil resistance.

Available in 20 to 1,000-foot lengths, the low-cost, Type SOOW and SJOOW flexible power cable is rated for severe (600 V) and junior severe (300 V) service and is approved for outdoor or indoor use with a temperature range of minus 40 to 194 degrees F.

Starting at $8.50 for a 20-foot reel, Type SOOW and SJOOW portable service cord is UL and CSA approved. Also added are more coil/spool length options in SEOOW and SJEOOW cord styles.
