Altra Wind Technology announced it has launched a new website that provides engineers and professionals in the wind turbine industry with a resource for application-specific power transmission and motion control solutions. The new online resource is organized into six categories including blade pitch brakes, yaw brakes, shaft locking devices, rotor brakes, high-speed shaft couplings and access hatch actuators. Within the application categories are products, photos, features and benefits of each Altra brand solution that can be applied to improve operational efficiency, productivity, safety and reliability. Internet links are provided to the Altra brands highlighted on the website, including Twiflex Ltd, Ameridrives Couplings, Warner Electric, Matrix International, and Warner Linear. Another link is provided to a Literature Portal with information grouped by brand, product family, and market served. With manufacturing facilities in the United States, Europe and China, the companies in the Altra Wind Technology family can provide support to wind turbine OEMs worldwide. Many Altra solutions and plants are GL (Germanischer Lloyd) and DNV (Det Norske Veritas) certified.
