Zero Max’s Newest Couplings Provide Zero Backlash and High Torsional Stiffness in Medical Actuation Systems

The next generation of ServoClass couplings from Zero-Max have even high torsional stiffness and are the suitable for handling high speed reversing loads and precise positioning requirements. Manufactured of ROHS-compliant materials, these new ServoClass Couplings are designed with 304 stainless steel disc packs and 7075-T6 aluminum hubs and center members. All models and sizes feature clamp-style hubs with corrosion resistant socket head cap screws. This design provides high torsional stiffness to avoid system resonance in servo systems. Standard off-the-shelf ServoClass Couplings will perform at speeds up to 10,000 rpm. The product line consists of eight sizes with torque ratings up to 530 in. lb. (60 Nm). System designers can select from combinations of both inch and metric bores that are available off-the-shelf. Zero-Max ServoClass Couplings are a suitable option when the application cycle becomes faster. The wind-up in beam couplings and the fragile nature of bellows couplings can become serious problems.
