Walter Solid Carbide Milling Cutters Provide High Metal Removal Rates

Walter has introduced the MC319/MC320 Advance Line of solid carbide milling cutters that have been specially engineered to meet the needs of today’s roughing operations. The Advance lineup is one of the three categories to Walter milling tools. The Advance line signifies product that is efficiently balanced between price and performance. The others are Perform Line tools that provide an economical solution with focused importance on price and the Supreme Line indicating the highest level of technology and performance available.

With exceptional versatility and a high metal removal rate these newly designed milling cutters feature an extremely wear-resistant knurled profile that also makes them highly robust, resulting in longer tool life in a variety of universal applications. With the new knurled profile, the MC319/MC320 power requirement (spindle output) during machining is around 30% lower than comparable tools with smooth cutting edges.

The MC319 is offered in a 4-flute design and internal coolant through the tool for full slotting and pocketing applications.  Counter to that, the MC320 has center cutting capability and a multi-flute design (Z=3-8) without internal coolant for higher horsepower operations.  Conefit designs are also available in the MC320 which allows economic replacement of just the cutting edge and reuse of the shank.
