Three New Planetary Gearhead Sizes Released from QTC

Quality Transmission Components released size 98, 78 and 52 planetary gearheads, that feature smooth, quiet, lightweight and compact helical gear drives, according to the company's press release.

Each new size, the QGH-98, QGH-78 and QGH-52, offers three backlash specifications. Both the 98 and 78 sizes offer backlash less than or equal to 15 arc min., less than or equal to 5 arc min. or less than or equal to 3 arc min. The 52 size offers backlash less than or equal to 15 arc min., less than or equal to 10 arc min. or less than or equal to 3 arc min. They are all offered with single stages featuring 95 percent efficiency or double stages with 92 percent efficiency. Their maximum input speed is 6,000 rpm, and the aluminum housing has gears and output shafts made from 4135 alloy steel. Available gear ratios range from 3:1 to 25:1. Each size gearhead varies in weight.
