Rotary Encoder Collars Give Shafts Speed Sensing Capability

Stafford Manufacturing Corp. offers shaft collars that can be customized with steel pick-up targets on the face or outside diameter to allow speed sensing feedback in new and retrofit applications.

The Stafford Custom Rotary Encoder Collars can be machined from aluminum and plastic in various sizes. They feature steel targets on the face or outside diameter at customer specified positions to allow speed sensing. They are appropriate for new and retrofit applications, and they aren't affected by oils. They are compatible with all popular variable reluctance sensors.

Available in custom sizes to fit shafts from half an inch up to 10 inches outside diameter, the rotary encoder collars can be made in one or two piece clamp type styles. The aluminum versions can be machined with round, square, hex or threaded bores and can be anodized in various colors to match equipment. Standard and custom mounting assemblies for sensors are also available.
