Regal-Beloit Acquires GE Motor and Capacitor Operations

Regal-Beloit Corp. announced a definitive agreement with GE Consumer and Industrial for their HVAC/Refrigeration Motor and Capacitor operations. According to the company’s press release, the $379 million transaction includes a full line of motors for residential HVAC applications and capacitors for HVAC and high intensity lighting operations. HVAC operations are currently based in Fort Wayne, IN and are included in the sale as are motor manufacturing facilities in Springfield, MI; Reynosa, Mexico and Faridabad, India, a capacitor manufacturing facility in Juarex, Mexico and a call center in Hyderabad, India. Regal-Beloit expects an additional $520 million in sales as a result of this transaction. Headquartered in Beloit, WI, Regal-Beloit manufactures mechanical and electrical motion control and power generation products.
