Oerlikon Champion Series Drives Present Three Models Designed for Self-Propelled Spray Tractors

Oerlikon’s Drive Systems Segment, with its brand Oerlikon Fairfield, recently displayed its new Champion Series of drives at Agritechnica 2015. The drives are designed specifically for the needs of modern self-propelled spray tractors. Three models, designated CO13, CO17 and CO26, have been developed, which offer a common design to accommodate a varying range of machine weights, speeds, tire offsets and braking performance covering machines with capacities from 2200 to 6000 litres.

Among other features, the new series offers tapered bearings across a wide spread to allow for higher radial loads and a patented internal service brake which improves safety and performance by eliminating the potential for chemical corrosion present with external braking mechanisms. The range offers flexibility to accommodate varying machine weights, speeds, tire offsets and braking performance. The common design simplifies service procedures for OEMs and dealers. Currently the Champion series is in production with one leading OEM and undergoing trials at others.
