North American EBCIs Remain High in April

According to respondents to NEMA's Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI), electrical equipment manufacturers continue to show strong economic improvement.The EBCI for North American conditions was unchanged in April at 71.7, which is is the highest monthly level since May 2004. Readings above 50 are typically considered an improvement in conditions. The EBCI for future North American conditions advanced 2.2 points to 73.9 in April, which reflects widespread sentiment that the improvement seen over the last several months will continue through the summer.

NEMA is the electrical and medical imaging equipment manufacturers.
