New Series of Bevel Gear Operators from Flowserve

The Limitorque Actuation System MT Series of bevel gear opeators from Flowserve are optimized to perform in power industry valve applications. According to the company’s press release, the product was designed as a combination of a bevel gear operator torque housing with a new thrust base design for torque seated valve applications as well as applications involving elevated process temperatures. MT Series bevel gears and thrust base housings are made of ductile iron. Additional features include robust thrust bearings and drive sleeve/stem nut design. These combine to offer the most rugged bevel gear operator available for handling the seating and unseating forces of the high pressure gate and global valves found in power plants worldwide. The MP operator stem nut is shouldered in the drive sleeve to capture thrust forces within the thrust housing without transferring to the torque housing. Available in torque ranges to 8,00 ft.-lbs and thrust ranges to 325,000 lb., the series is motorized by Limitorque MX, SMB or L120 series electric actuators.
