NEMA Reports on Electroindustry Business Conditions

NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America slipped in November, falling from 56.3 in October to 53.1, but showed signs of improvement in the business environment by remaining above the 50-point mark. In contrast, confidence in future business conditions increased in November. The EBCI for North American conditions six months hence inched upward to 81.3 from 71.9 in October. NEMA is the association of electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers, founded in 1926 and headquartered in Rosslyn, Virginia. Its 400-plus member companies manufacture a diverse set of products including power transmission and distribution equipment, lighting systems, factory automation and control systems, and medical diagnostic imaging systems.
