Moticont Expands Miniature Linear Servomotors

Two new miniature, LVCM-013-013-02M (Metric version) and the LVCM-013-013-02 (Imperial version) linear servomotors have been released by Moticont. These two brushless high speed linear servomotors with a 6.4 mm (0.25 in.) long stroke, have a high-force-to-size ratio of 0.86 N (3.1 oz) and a peak force of 2.73 N (9.8 oz) at a 10 percent duty cycle. Operated in a closed loop as a DC servomotor, these miniature linear servo motors have high accuracy and high repeatability. Featuring high acceleration/deceleration and low inertia, they are clean, quiet, reliable, and efficient.

These LVCM-013-013-02M and the LVCM-013-013-02, linear voice coil servomotors are also known as moving coil motors or linear actuators. Only 20.4 mm (0.80 in.) long at mid-stroke they are easily integrated into new and existing applications and ideal replacements for pneumatic actuators. Their high force-to-size make them the practical choice for: Scanners, laser beam steering and filtering, haptic feedback, dynamic vibration absorption, dispensing, work holding and clamping, assembly, testing, and wafer handling.

The LVCM-013-013-02M has M3X0.5 threaded holes in the center of the housing and the coil end, and the LVCM-013-013-02 has 4-40 UNC-2B threaded mounting holes for easy integration into new or existing applications. Made in the USA, single or multi-axis plug-and-play servo controllers and linear encoders are also available for all Moticont linear motors.

Is there a need for a smaller or larger diameter motor, one with longer travel, or more force? There are 12 series of LVCM motors based on the diameter of the motors, and over 50 models based on length of stroke and/or force to select from.
