Marposs’ Newest Software Enables On-Machine Measuring

The 3D Shape Inspector software for on-machine measurement application from Marposs is used with the company’s touch probes and enables high precision measurement from the same machine used for part cutting. The software checks part shape and dimensions and generates a Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) report and allows for reworking of out-of-tolerance measurements without sending the part for measuring on a CMM and then refixturing and setting up the part after inspection. The program can be used as a direct TCP/IP or DNC interface on a CNC-integrated PC or offline by creating probing programs on an external PC. The easy-to-use system features an intuitive graphical interface and various automated cycles to simplify and speed programming of calibration, part measuring and geometri body measuring cycles.
