Körber Schleifring Becomes United Grinding

Körber Schleifring, a global provider of grinding machine technology and its North American arm United Grinding Techologies are now one under the new brand name United Grinding Group – Körber Solutions, a move that expands the company’s global market position in relation to technology, service and volume. As an amalgamation of eight individual company brands, the new group also represents what is considered the industry’s largest single source of comprehensive and integrated grinding solutions.

Under the United Grinding umbrella, companies Magerle, Blohm, Jung, Studer, Schaudt, Mikrosa, Walter and EWAG work together to provide the most advanced CNC grinding machine technology and expertise that ensure the continued competitiveness, success and growth of customers worldwide. The group offers a scope of over 60 product and service brands, local applications support and centuries of combined experience and innovation in cylindrical, profile, surface and cutting tool grinding, as well as eroding and lasering operations.

“There is strength in numbers,” said Rodger Pinney, president of United Grinding North America, Inc. “The new unified group positions us to further intensify our focus on and attention to customers. Through close working relationships, we will continue to clearly and completely understand our customers’ manufacturing needs and shape our precision grinding technologies and services to fulfill those needs and keep them profitable.”

As part of the new branding, United Grinding will implement some key projects and strategies involving sales and service, production, engineering, finance and culture. For instance, United Grinding has defined nine critical industry segments on which it will focus when developing new products and services in line with customer requirements. These segments include automotive and suppliers, aerospace, transportation and heavy industries, energy, tooling, die and mold, medical, machine manufacturers and precision engineering.

Additionally, the group’s new renamed Customer Care program includes services to help customers use United Grinding products even more efficiently and profitably. New machine redesigns will create added value for customers, while a new fine-tuned sales app ensures customers receive all necessary product and service information for a smooth and fast capital equipment acquisition process.
