KISSsoft Releases New Function for Face Gears

A new functionality to generate a solid model of a face gear with arbitrary shaft angle and offset is implemented in the development version of KISSsoft. The models are provided through engineering services. From 2011 on the extended modules ZF1, ZF10 and CB1 are available in the official KISSsoft release. The model is generated by simulating the actual cutting process, and has no limitation on the shaft angle or offset. After completing the cutting simulation, the tooth flank is approximated with a spline surface for further uses such as machining and FEA. The model can be exported in neutral file format (STEP) and Parasolid (binary or text).
