Ingersoll Adds Insert to Superfinishing High-Feed Face Mills

Ingersoll has introduced its Gold-Max 4 FFIN. Features include cutting diameters from 2.00” thru 8.00”, two insert types, each with 4 keen cutting edges, long elliptical wipers that produce a uniform finish and can eliminate mismatch lines. Wipers produce low Ra finishes at high feed rates (4 Ra capable, 8-24 Ra common). These inserts are standard in Ingersoll's newest hone technology, Y Hone, and latest nano-laminate coating. The FFIN is ideally suited to materials like irons, carbon and alloy steels, and titanium. The Maximum Depths of Cut: .040” (L001 insert), .008” (New L205 Insert).
