Hermann Stadtfeld Returns to Gleason as VP

Gleason Corp. has appointed Hermann J. Stadtfeld as vice president of bevel gear technology. According to the company’s press release, Stadtfeld will be responsible for the research and development related to the advancing of the company’s bevel gear technology. Stadtfeld received a doctoral degree from the Technical University of Aachen (WZL) in 1987 and taught machine and gear design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and at the Technical University Ilmenau, Germany. From 1994-2002, Stadtfeld worked for Gleason as vice president of research and development. In addition, Stadtfeld has authored 15 books and more than 130 papers on beveled gearing, and has received more than 30 patents relating to gears and gear technology.
