IMECE 2016

Real world challenges that face health care, transportation, space exploration, new product design and manufacture, and energy require interdisciplinary mechanical engineering approaches and perspectives. ASME's International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) is designed to facilitate this powerful dialogue between disciplines in the global engineering arena.IMECE has a long-standing history within ASME and the mechanical engineering field. Historically, IMECE has been the first place that new innovation in mechanical engineering is presented. For example, in 1911, Willis Carrier presented what many scientists consider to be the most significant document on air conditioning. The first proceedings of the 1st New York Meeting, now known as IMECE, were published in 1880. Since then, the conference has grown to include various audiences, and be the mark of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration within the mechanical engineering field. The event features 20+ tracks and 240 topics in mechanical engineering, daily plenary sessions, industry presentations, an Honors Assembly program and more.
