Emerson Power Transmission Publishes Belt Drive and Bearing Reference Guide

Emerson Power Transmission revised their "Belt Drive and Bearing Reference Guide" to fit a pocket-size format and includes specific user information on belts, sheaves and bearings. Additional details are provided on product design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Specific air handling requirements are outlined along the Browning brand sheave and belt designs relating to HVAC applications. According to the company's press release, shorter center distane and high drive speeds are covered in the belt drive section. Various types of sheave and belt construction are outlined, providing user with an understanding of operation characteristics. Installation, preventative and corrective maintenance procedures are covered and completel with illustrations. A wide range of problems with solutions are addressed in the troubleshooting section, including problems related to installation, selection, environment and original design.

The bearing section addresses bearing type--mounted ball, mounted roller and rubber mounted with their general applications. Locking type--concentric, eccentric and setsrew applications are outlined and compared. Air handling housing fit and impact on operation air handling applications are covered as well.
