Dana Corp. Consolidates Off-Highway Axle and Transmission Production

Dana Corp. is closing its Statesville, NC, facility, reducing the work force in Brugge, Belgium and realigning machining and assembly operations in North America and Europe. These actions will be complete by December 2005. According to the company's press release, approximately 300 jobs will be eliminated. Affected employees will be offered training and separation benefits. In the company's press release, Dana's Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems' Group president Nick Cole says, "The decision to consolidate manufacturing was necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of this business long term".
