Bonfiglioli Expands Australian Headquarters

Bonfiglioli has doubled the size of its Victorian headquarters with its move to a new and expanded facility in Carrum Downs, Victoria, near Melbourne to better serve its customers through increased stock levels as well as enhanced quality and efficiency. The new 3,500 sqm facility with expanded Quality Assurance, testing and production engineering capabilities can accommodate stock levels double that of the previous facility. The expansion was on the one hand a reaction on the increased demand in the APAC region and will help the Italian drive specialist Bonfiglioli at the same time to improve Quality Assurance of its high-class products.

The doubling will help Bonfiglioli to better serve key Australian industries such as marine, water and wastewater, mining, waste, recycling and agriculture. “Our customers were the key consideration in our expansion. Carrum Downs is closer to a number of important customers, and we’re able to better serve all our customers with the additional space, expanded testing facilities and greater stock levels.” explains Michael Mullen, regional manager, VIC, SA and TAS at Bonfiglioli Australia.

Bonfiglioli, which is this year celebrating its 30th year in Australia, is one of Australasia’s top suppliers of helical, planetary, worm and frequency inverter drives, offering specific solutions for industrial and mobile equipment. Bonfiglioli drives are designed to withstand the arduous conditions often experienced in Australian climates, which experience high temperature fluctuations and harsh climactic extremes.

One of the major features of the new Victorian headquarters is a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) testing area, which includes the capacity to locally test larger size electric motors and gearboxes than the previous facility. “At the new facility every Bonfiglioli product is QA controlled both in and out, which means that every gearbox that leaves our warehouse has been fully tested and our customers can be assured that they will meet all safety and Standards compliance requirements,” said Mr. Mullen. In addition to a dedicated testing area, the new facility also has a dedicated spray booth as well as a service area for maintenance and reconditioning of used gearboxes.
