Bison Expands Global Access to MAE Stepper Motors for Precision Motion Control
Bison is bringing MAE stepper motors to customers worldwide, expanding access to proven motion-control solutions for OEMs and equipment designers.
Combining precise positioning, high torque and flexible configuration options, MAE stepper motors help engineers achieve accurate, repeatable motion across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
“Engineers are often balancing precision, performance, and integration requirements,” said Matt Fuss, business unit manager, Bison. “MAE stepper motors are designed to address those challenges with accurate positioning, high torque and a broad range of configuration options that simplify machine design.”
The two-phase hybrid stepper motors feature a precise 1.8° step angle and support micro-stepping up to 204,800 steps per revolution, enabling smooth operation and fine positioning control. Available in NEMA 17, 23 and 34 frame sizes, the motors accommodate a variety of design requirements and deliver holding torques up to 12 Nm.
Designed to support both open-loop and closed-loop motion-control systems, MAE stepper motors can be configured with planetary gearboxes, high resolution encoders — incremental or absolute, brakes and integrated electronics to meet specific application requirements. A range of built-in controller options are also available, from economical Step and Direction and RS485 solutions to advanced closed-loop controllers featuring industrial communication bus connection via EtherCAT, CANopen or Modbus.
