Arnold’s Ramco Electric Motors Delivers Custom Stators, Rotors, Motor Assemblies for Low- to Mid-Volume Applications

Arnold Magnetic Technologies Corp., a subsidiary of Compass Diversified, highlighted the custom electric motor and component manufacturing services offered through its Ramco Electric Motors division. Ramco serves original equipment manufacturers and other customers in the industrial, commercial, military and aerospace markets with low- to mid-volume electric motors and motor components, providing a single manufacturing partner for stators, rotors, shafts and complete motor assemblies.

Ramco manufactures components for AC induction, switched reluctance and brushless DC motor designs. Its offerings include complete motor assemblies, custom stators, AC induction rotors, DC permanent magnet rotors, switched reluctance rotors and rotor-shaft assemblies.

Ramco winds stator coils and builds custom stator assemblies for motors ranging from fractional horsepower to 200 horsepower and beyond. Its capabilities include lap and concentric wound coils for single- and three-phase AC induction stators, as well as DC brushless stators. Stator cores can be constructed using epoxy bonding, welding or riveting, with dip-and-bake, VPI and trickle varnishing options available.

Ramco’s rotor manufacturing capabilities include aluminum and copper casting, induction brazing, permanent magnet rotor assembly, switched reluctance rotor production and rotor balancing. For rotor and shaft assemblies, the division provides CNC turning, CNC milling, outside-diameter grinding and balancing.

Ramco can hold outside-diameter grinding tolerances of ±0.0001 inch. Assemblies and subassemblies are inspected using a CMM coordinate measuring machine and other precision gauging equipment.
