Applied Motion's Stepper Drives Offer 220 VAC Operation

Applied Motion Products STAC6-Si high performance stepper drives are now available for 220 VAC operation.

Drives are programmable for stand-alone operation with user-friendly Si Programmer(TM) Windows-based software with integrated tuning.  A graphical point-and-click format combines motion, I/O and operator  interface functionality for simpler machine sequencing.  According to the company's press release, the result is easier integration on a machine with other devices such as sensors and PLCs.

STAC6-Si drives feature current output from 0.5-3.2 A with 220 VAC input, and provide software selectable resolutions from 200 to 51,200 steps/rev at speeds up to 50 rps.

Self-test and auto setup features measure and configure motor parameters automatically, while anti-resonance technology eliminates midrange instability for higher motor speeds and fuller use of available torque.

Command signal smoothing reduces extraneous system resonances. Torque ripple smoothing adjusts the current waveform to reduce low speed torque ripple for smooth motion at low motor speeds.

Additionally, MicroStep Emulation provides smooth motion for systems requiring low step resolutions, such as retrofit systems with controller resolution that is fixed at a low value and cannot easily be
changed.
