Altra Industrial Motion Breaks Ground in Changzhou, China

Altra Industrial Motion recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of a new 90,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China (near Shanghai). The new plant, Altra's second manufacturing facility in China, will be home to Altra Industrial Motion Changzhou (AIMC). The facility will enable Altra Couplings to better serve the Chinese market by providing shorter lead times and enhanced technical support. Initially, coupling production at the new facility will be focused on products for the Chinese wind power, metals production, oil and gas, and power generation markets.

"Altra has been active in the Chinese market for more than 20 years," said Mark Klossner, vice president and general manager of Altra Couplings and recently appointed AIMC chairman. "This new facility is a sign of our continued commitment to serving the large and growing Chinese market for mechanical power transmission products."
