AGMA's Leah Lewis Elected Leadership Position with PCMA Capital Chapter

The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) is pleased to announce that Leah Lewis, meetings director, CMP, DES, has been selected as professional director for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Capital Chapter, the largest chapter of the global PCMA organization. Lewis was selected by the PCMA Nominating Committee for a two-year term in September 2021 and began her term in January 2022.

The board seat is a volunteer position and Lewis was chosen for her dedication and leadership in the meetings industry.

“Joining an industry association is so important for not only professional development, but to keep current on trends and information relevant to my job,” said Lewis. “I am honored to be chosen to serve on their board of directors so that I can continue to grow my knowledge, help others in the process and stay connected for my members benefit as well.”

According to their website, “The mission of the PCMA Capital Chapter is to serve the business events industry by connecting our members through advocacy, education, leadership, and volunteerism.” PCMA hosts events all around the U.S. and Lewis has held leadership roles for many of these meetings just as she does in her trade association job.

“Leah is always educating herself and AGMA about the latest in the event and meetings planning space,” said Jenny Blackford, vice president, business division, AGMA. “It is because of her volunteerism and networking through PCMA that we can offer our members the best experience at our conferences because we have a true expert on our team.”
