AFC-Holcroft Ships Heat Treating Furnace to Stamping Manufacturer

A large stamping manufacturer has ordered a mesh belt austempering furnace system from AFC-Holcroft, a manufacturer of heat treating furnaces. This is the fifth AFC-Holcroft austemper furnace line at the facility.

The system will be used for the austempering of metal stampings, and consists of a mesh belt austempering furnace with integral salt quench tank, a conveyorized wash/rinse tank, and an endothermic gas generator to serve the line. In addition, the line will include AFC-Holcroft’s BeltMaster System for monitoring and controlling the furnace line.

The hardening furnace will be reinforced with a free-standing structural steel support frame so that an excavated pit is not required for the salt quench tank. The salt quench tank will include a secondary containment tank.

Delivery of the line will be second quarter of 2015.
