Actuator Offers Long Life and Static Load Capacity

Linear motion control systems and turnkey components manufacturer Nook Industries has recently introduced the Infinity 1 Roller Screw Actuator that was tested to over 1,000,000+ cycles of continuous duty (49 million inches of travel) at 2,500 lbs of thrust and at a travel rate of 10 in/second. A cost-effective alternative to hydraulics, the high-performance, heavy-duty electromechanical actuator offers long life with high dynamic and static load capacity. Designed for a myriad of heavy-duty industrial market applications (including welding, food, packaging, etc.) requiring precision speed and load control, Infinity 1 also delivers an essential IP rating of IP64+ through a possible IP68 (motor dependent). Design elements contributing to this high IP rating include; a hermetically sealed case and enclosed integrated position transducer, and integrated load and torque sensor.

The Infinity 1s Integrated Position Transducer offers high precision absolute position measurement (in Analog and SSI output) and delivers 1.7x greater position accuracy than using a motor encoder. The Integrated Load and Torque Sensor offer absolute load measurement (in Analog mV output) with no translating wires. Infinity 1 is also self- lubricating, thus requiring no maintenance.
