Sumitomo Drive Technologies, together with Invertek Drives and Lafert Group, will be presenting its complete drive solutions for automation and Industry 4.0 at Hannover Messe 2023. From April 17 to 21, visitors to Hall 6, Booth B25 will learn how they can use energy-efficient drive solutions to meet their sustainability goals while also boosting their competitiveness.
"Hannover Messe is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the latest developments in the energy efficiency of our drive solutions," says Florian Butzmann, CEO of Sumitomo Drive Technologies in EMEIA (SCG Group). "Together with Lafert and Invertek, we offer complete solutions that not only cut energy costs but also meet the needs of an increasingly green industry."
Energy efficiency is a key factor in the drive solutions that Sumitomo Drive Technologies develops together with Lafert and Invertek for a wide range of sectors and applications. State-of-the-art technologies, coordinated components, and an intelligent control system reduce operating, maintenance, and repair costs.
Drive technology from precision robots to 35-ton industrial gearboxes
As an example of energy efficiency in drives, the booth will feature the BBB H IE5 drive package (energy efficiency class Ultra-Premium IE5).
This drive solution combines a bevel helical gearbox, Lafert motor, and Invertek variable frequency drives (VFDs). The individual components are matched to achieve maximum energy savings and compactness in high-speed solutions such as baggage handling systems at airports, parcel sorting solutions in logistics hubs, or automated storage systems.
Another highlight at the booth will be the fully integrated Tuaka drive for robot applications, which won the Hermes Award at last year's Hannover Messe. Visitors can see the performance of Tuaka drives for themselves by guiding a robot arm with integrated torque sensor or testing various additional functions such as virtual end stops or a spring-damper application (impedance mode).
Alongside the ultra-high-precision equipment, a 660 kg (25 kNm) Paramax reducer will also be available for visitors to handle at the booth. This flexible gearbox series, manufactured in Europe, ensures short delivery times as well as minimal maintenance, low operating costs, and fast service. The reducer is representative of Sumitomo Drive Technologies' wide range of industrial gearboxes, right up to the 35-ton drive unit with 1,800kNm rated torque. Resource efficiency is becoming more and more important for large industrial gearboxes too, with a view to sustainability as well as rising energy and raw material prices.
