Schneider Electric Honored for Workplace Diversity

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, received the 2016 Company Leadership Award from the Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management, and Education, or AWESOME, organization. Honored alongside Intel, Schneider Electric was chosen for creating an environment that supports diverse talent development and the advancement of women leaders.
The Company Leadership Award was announced at the Fourth Annual AWESOME Symposium in April, where two executives, one each from Intel Corporation and Schneider Electric, received the 2016 AWESOME Legendary Leadership Award -- the "ALL" Award -- for their extraordinary professional accomplishments. The ALL Award recipients are Jackie Sturm, vice president, technology and manufacturing group, general manager of global supply management, Intel Corporation, and Annette Clayton, recently promoted to CEO and president for North America and continuing chief supply chain officer, Schneider Electric.
According to Dr. Nancy Nix, AWESOME Executive Director, “We realize it is the culture of a company that encourages and values the performance and achievements of women as leaders. We commend both of these companies for their commitment to advancing women’s leadership.”
In a fast-changing world, gender diversity is critical to economic development. Schneider Electric actively promotes diversity through locally adapted global initiatives to include women. By 2017, the Group has committed to: Increase the representation of women across the pipeline – 40 percent at entry-level positions and 35 percent in key positions, implement pay equality for 150,000 employees or roughly 85 percent of its workforce and establish dedicated executive-level groups to raise the bar on its aspirations for women.
