Haydon Kerk Introduces Micro Series Lead Screw Assemblies

January 30, 2015

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions recently introduced their Kerk Micro Series lead screw assemblies. Standard configurations include 2 mm diameter screws with leads ranging from 0.3 mm to 2 mm per revolution and a variety of nut configurations of self-lubricating acetal and Kerkite High Performance Composite Polymers, including nylon, PPS and PEEK materials.

This product line is opening up a whole new range of designs. The Micro Series allows the miniaturization of products, reduced power consumption, and weight reduction without sacrificing performance or reliability. With the introduction of the Micro Series, people can take advantage of standard designs, existing tooling, and quick delivery to bring their products to market swiftly and cost effectively.

The Kerk Micro Series lead screws are available as stand-alone components and integrated into the high performance Haydon linear actuators. Lead screw rolling is brought to a new level of precision in these micro-sized parts. Manufactured of premium grade 303 stainless steel, Kerk Micro Series lead screw assemblies provide high performance, long life and require no maintenance. High accuracy threads with uniformity deliver precise motion and reduce noise and vibration. Optional Kerkote TFE coating, a dry lubricant, extends nut life while reducing friction and drive torque requirements.

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions offers custom solutions and the Micro Series extends that capability. All screws are manufactured to customer specifications, to fit individual applications. Custom screw materials are available such as heat treated 400 series stainless steel. Haydon Kerk’s machining, mold making and injection molding capabilities combine to produce high value solutions, whether the need is for a hundred, a thousand, or a million assemblies.

Typical applications include surgical and medical instrumentation, laboratory equipment, miniature drug delivery systems, semiconductor handling, hand held instruments, or wherever efficient, precise motion is required, to be delivered in a small package.
