The ST10-S from Applied Motion delivers up to 10.0 A with 24-80 VDC input and can be controlled by a step and direction input or by a host controller via serial communications.
According to the company's press release, the self-test and auto setup features measure and configure motor parameters automatically while anti-resonance technology eliminates mid-range instability for higher motor speeds and more use of available torque.
Additional features include demand signal smoothing to reduce extraneous system resonances while providing smoother motor performance and reduced wear. Torque ripple smoothing adjusts the current waveform to reduce low speed torque ripple for smooth motion at low motor speed. MicroStep Emulation provides smooth motion for systems requiring low step resolutions. This can be used on retrofit systems with controller resolution that is fixed at a low value and cannot easily be changed.
