New Light- And Heavy-Duty Knitted Mesh Vibration Mounts From AAC

April 21, 2006
Two new series of base-mounted stainless steel knitted mesh vibration mounts introduced by Advanced Antivibration Components are designed for marine, aerospace and machine shop applications where corrosive environments could cause conventional isolation materials to fail or operate at reduced efficiency. The stainless steel springs and resilient knitted pads are unaffected by oil, water, ozone, bacteria, corrosion, or temperature extremes (no efficiency change occurs between -94 degrees F and +347 degrees F (-70 degrees C to +175 degrees C). The V10Z22 Series light-duty mount are designed for marine, aircraft and other mobile applications and conform to MIL-5400C military specification. The series consists of many different mounts ranging in static load capacities from 1.55 to 132.30 lbs. (0.7 to 60 kg), and mounting configurations 1/4-20 to 3/8-24. The units are constructed of stainless steel springs and resilient mesh pads which are enclosed in an aluminum alloy housing. Dynamic characteristics include a ratio between transverse and axial (vertical) stiffness of approximately 1:2.5. Their natural frequency is equal to 7 to 10 Hz vertical and 4.5 to 6 Hz transverse, depending on load, for a displacement of +/-0.030" (0.75 mm). Transmissibility is less than or equal to 4:1. Units have a free height of 1-27/32" (46.3 mm) with a base dimension of 2-3/8" sq (60.5 mm sq). Unit weights range from 3.53 to 4.41 oz (100-125 g. The V10Z28 heavy-duty mounts are designed for machine tools, motors, generator sets, printing presses, textile machinery and pumps. This series consists of six different mounts ranging in static load capacities from 10-1,000 lbs. (4.55 to 453.5 kg). The natural frequency of the units are 13-17 Hz for an amplitude of +/-0.012"(+/-.3 mm). The material used is knitted stainless steel mesh. Aluminum alloy coated with Alochrome 1200 is used for the housings.Unit free height is 1.91" of 1.44" (36.6 mm). Base dimensions are 3" sq. (76.2 mm sq). Unit weight is 6.33 oz (180g).
