Whereas in the past, the focus was on use cases in which errors or anomalies were detected or prognostications were made, industry in 2023 is focusing on the optimization of processes and the use of AI methods for simulation, testing and product development.

Ruland recently expanded their range of quick clamping shaft collars with clamping lever to include bore sizes up to 3 inches or 80 mm. These shaft collars allow the user to install, remove, or reposition the collar without the use of tools. The user simply turns the lever to loosen and tighten the collar on the shaft.

Kollmorgen recently announced the new P80630-SDN stepper drive. Customers can now benefit from features such as smoothness, precision and torque across the full speed range in a significantly more compact package that enables smaller, lighter, more versatile machines. Kollmorgen will also be introducing additional stepper drives and features in the coming months, building upon the new, flagship P8000 stepper drive platform. 

Jergens announces the appointment of Bryon Shafer as vice president of the ASG division. The move comes amidst other corporate changes taking place that further increase Jergens’ focus on manufacturing in the United States. With the new position, Shafer has global responsibility and oversees more than 50 employees that provide torque control, fastening, and precision assembly tools to nearly 30 countries around the world.

Indonesia is this year’s Partner Country at Hannover Messe. Indonesian President Joko Widodo has confirmed his personal attendance at the world’s leading industrial trade fair and will speak at the opening ceremony in April. In addition, together with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, he will also take part in the traditional chancellor’s tour the next day – opening day Monday – at the fair. The last time these two heads of government met was at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, in November 2022.
