Warner Adds I-Track Actuators

August 8, 2013
Warner Linear recently announced the addition of the I-Track to their line of linear actuators. The I-Track’s unique inline design was developed for light- and medium-duty applications where parallel motor type actuators won’t fit in limited space requirements. The I-Track features a release clutch which allows the actuator rod to float when power is off. When the clutch is disengaged, much less force is required for manual movement such as on handicap van ramps. The clutch also provides overload protection and can be driven through in case of obstruction.

To ensure reliable performance in tough applications, a 51-day/350,000 cycle combined environmental chamber test was performed which subjected the unit to rigourous conditions including salt spray, 5,000 psi spray, vibration, extreme temperatures and humidity. The I-Track has a load capacity up to 200 lbs. and stroke lengths up to 12 inches. Gaskets are nitrile impregnated for superior sealing and steel components are nitrotec-coated for enhanced corrosion resistance. Models feature a ball screw for long life, a steel rod for durability and are IP66 capable. Operating temperature range from -40˚F to 185˚F (-40˚C to 85˚C).

Motors are available in 12 or 24 VDC with long-life brushes. An optional potentiometer is offered with output scaled to stroke. Units can be mounted at the body by trunnions, or as traditional clevis. Rod ends can be changed to allow for custom mountings. An array of actuator controls is also available from simple-to-use switch box controls for basic extend/retract function to state-of-the-art microprocessor-based digital electronic controls using SMT design and manufacturing processes. The I-Track can also be driven by a PWM (pulse-width modulation) controller to achieve multiple velocities.
