New Zero Max Software Hits the Shelves

April 18, 2006
Zero-Max has introduced Version 1.5 of its latest software designed for faster sizing and selection of components for motion control and power transmission systems. According to Zero-Max’s press release, the new software contains the latest downloadable 3D CAD drawings, CD coupling brochures in German, Spanish, French as well as English, metric sizing software for its CD and ServoClass couplings, upgraded specifications throughout including RoHS compliant product information for these two coupling product lines, and much more. Used with its broad line of couplings, torque limiters, variable speed drives, right angle gear drives and linear actuators, the software provides the ideal component recommendation for a given set of operating requirements. To select the right ServoClass coupling, for example, the system designer simply enters coupling RPM needed, peak torque, angular, axial and parallel misalignment, service factor and the two shaft sizes. The program then gives the recommended coupling model in the appropriate size, showing all operating parameters for that particular coupling. Data such as torsional and axial stiffness, moment of inertia, maximum speed, operating torque and maximum allowable angular, axial and parallel misalignment are shown. PDF files of all newly updated product catalogs are included along with the downloadable CAD drawings so the system designer can incorporate any model and size Zero-Max product into a system design without the need to recreate the geometry. The new software provides for additional product options, including product specials, so the designer can evaluate alternatives and tradeoffs for his system.
