Chairman of Timken Board to be Nominated as Ambassador to Germany

W.R. Timken Jr. will be nominated by President George Bush for the position of U.S. Ambassador to Germany. His nomination will be forwarded to the U.S. Senate for confirmation. If confirmed, he will resign from the Timken board. Until that time, he will continue to serve on the Timken Board of Directors. According to the company's biography, Timken started with the company in 1962 and retired as an executive in 2003, at which time he began serving as non-executive chairman of the board. Timken is also chairman of The Manufacturing Institute, a past chairman of the National Association of Manufacturers, a chevalier in the French Legion of Honor and a member of the Professional Football Hall of Fame board of directors.
