Schaeffler Field Pro Tillage Hub Launches in North America

Responding to the agriculture industry’s growing need to increase farm productivity and harvest yields, global industrial and automotive supplier Schaeffler is launching its all-new Field Pro tillage hub in North America. Precision-engineered for maximum output and reliability, Schaeffler Field Pro is the direct-fit, easy-to-install solution that farmers need to help ensure a successful harvest.

Whether faced with the threat of contamination from dust, moisture and fertilizers, or the repeated impacts of stones and other shock loads, tillage tools must operate reliably under some of the harshest conditions to guarantee a successful planting and harvest season. To that end, the state-of-the-art Schaeffler Field Pro tillage hub has been specifically designed to ensure independent tillage discs deliver reliable performance and maximum productivity. With its robust and corrosion-proof design that keeps grease in and contaminants out, Schaeffler Field Pro can help maximize farms’ yields.

“For decades, Schaeffler solutions have been helping agricultural machinery work productively and dependably,” said Ryan Lynch, Schaeffler Industry Manager for Off-Road in the Americas. “In the spirit of that heritage, we set out to design a reliable and maintenance-free tillage hub unit that would allow farmers to increase their productivity and yield, while easily interchanging with existing competitive offerings – precisely what our all-new Schaeffler Field Pro tillage hub accomplishes,” said Lynch.

Designed to overcome the extreme contamination challenges inherent in agricultural applications – typically the most serious threat to bearing and, consequently, tillage reliability – Schaeffler Field Pro incorporates a highly advanced, enhanced sealing system consisting of spring-loaded double-cassette seals and an extended ingress pathway that keep out mud, dust and dirt.

For maximum flexibility, Schaeffler Field Pro is available with 4-, 5- and 6-bolt flange options, making it fully interchangeable with competitors’ existing products.

To contend with the high moment loads that routinely impact tillage equipment, the bearings inside Schaeffler Field Pro feature an optimized contact angle and load-carrying capacity. For farmers, this translates into an exceptionally robust and reliable tillage hub that can handle higher forces. Meanwhile, Schaeffler Field Pro’s reinforced components and rigid cross section provide superior protection against damage caused by heavy impact loads. And to further extend Field Pro’s service life, Schaeffler’s proprietary Corrotect corrosion protection is applied to all exposed parts.
