Rexroth Offers Options for TS 5 Transfer Motion System

August 25, 2011
The TS 5 transfer system from Rexroth sets heavy loads up to 300 kilograms quickly and efficiently in motion. Rexroth now offers a new open center section as a standard module that enables access to the workpiece from below. Users can implement both lift and rotate stations, as well as customer-specific positioning units. Automated processes such as tightening and test stations on the bottom side of the workpiece can be directly integrated in the material flow. This seamless system thus increases efficiency when transferring loads.

The TS 5 transfer system with king shaft convinces with its maintenance-free and low-noise operation, as well as high energy efficiency, based on its excellent overall efficiency. Depending on the workpiece size, customers can configure the roller conveyors in 455, 650 and 845 millimeter system widths. The system is designed to allow branching off beyond the drive side to the right or left, which simplifies planning considerably. The products are either transported on workpiece pallets or directly on the roller conveyor.

The new open center section offers a wide range of options for the direct integration of automated processes. Eliminating the need for specialized solutions, the open center section is now available to users as a standard module. For workpiece pallet transport, short rollers with bearings on both sides are implemented to ensure the system’s stability.

The drive concept provides plenty of freedom for customized configurations: The open section can be equipped with a king shaft on one or both sides. The drive on one side offers an especially economical solution for workpiece pallet weights up to 200 kilograms. For heavier applications or a highly offset center of gravity, the drive on both sides guarantees secure transport.

Users can easily and quickly configure their specific system with open and closed sections. Rexroth's MTpro planning software contains all components of the TS 5 modular system as 3-D models. Added reliability in planning is provided by defined interfaces which allow the free combination of all modules. The robust design of the TS 5 makes it suitable for applications in harsh environments and even machining.
